Zoological Curator, Team.

About me.

Julia has a degree in Biology, focusing on Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

In her Master’s thesis, she has researched the phenomenon of diapause in the South American genus Acanthochelys, the snake-necked turtles.

Since 2013, she has devoted herself to all of the animals at Turtle Island and specializes in the detection, challenge, and development of complicated incubation methods for turtle eggs.

Julia completed internships at Wildtiere in Not (Wildlife in Need) in Graz,  Seal Rescue Ireland in Ireland, and at Nordens Ark in Sweden, thus gaining experience in handling birds, small mammals, and marine mammals
